Learn What Is Health And Wellness Tourism
Life has no significance without health; in fact, I have dedicated a decade of my life to walking the walk and talking the talk. Life is valuable, but health is more valuable than living since life without health is like eating food without flavor. Fitness allows you to live a happy life and participate in all of its activities. When you live a Healthy Lifestyle, your body stays healthy, and your mind stays intuitive and fresh. As a result, you will be protected against a wide range of severe illnesses and will be able to enjoy a long and healthy life. My life has been personally impacted in many different ways as a result of recent events such as the pandemic. My career at sea came to a complete stop for a year. In hindsight, it was a blessing for me. I was able to pause, return back to my studies and prepare for a come back into the travel industry in an authentic way. I was determined to revisit communication methods that will influence and invoke a life-changing decision for all humanity. In this message to you, I will share with you my findings on disease prevention, wellness tourism and global wellness.
Prevent A Disease
The essential aspect is that a healthy lifestyle offers protection against a variety of severe illnesses and many harmful viruses and germs. A healthy body and mind are vital for a happy life. This is only achievable if you select an active lifestyle; however, if you choose an inactive lifestyle, you may develop chronic illnesses such as cancer, hypertension, and others, which may be highly detrimental to you. Since the pandemic, studies about the effectiveness of Chinese Medicine (CM) have developed in research.
In a recent study published in Pubmed, The use of CM to prevent epidemics of infectious diseases was traced back to ancient Chinese practice cited in Huangdi’s Internal Classic (Huang Di Nei Jing) where preventive effects were recorded. There were 3 studies using CM for the prevention of SARS and 4 studies for H1N1 influenza. None of the participants who took CM contracted SARS in the 3 studies. The infection rate of H1N1 influenza in the CM group was significantly lower than in the non-CM group (relative risk 0.36, 95% confidence interval 0.24-0.52; n=4). For the prevention of COVID-19, 23 provinces in China issued CM programs. The main principles of CM use were to tonify qi to protect from external pathogens, disperse wind and discharge heat, and resolve dampness.
When attempting to adopt a healthy lifestyle, we must alter some behaviors, adjust our daily routine, and consume foods that feed our body and keep it fit.
Wellness Tourism And Lifestyle For Healthy Living
The non-profit Global Wellness Institute (GWI) in the United States defines wellness tourism as “travel linked to preserve or improve one’s well-being.” While ‘activity’ vacations have been around for a while, embarking on one of these new journeys – from hiking in Morocco with Equinox to sailing towards the Italian Riviera with Goop’s Gwyneth Paltrow – usually entails a luxurious bounty of strictly curated meals, supervised workouts, and an emphasis on mindfulness and enlightenment.
Travel has always been a very big part of my life since I was very young. My father was in the military and we were custom to inoculations. Living in other countries, I’ve observed lifestyles that are different from the United States. These lifestyle habits included seasonal health habits. For example, in China, certain foods are eaten according to the season. When visiting a doctor, natural solutions such as homeopathic and natural topical ointments are prescribed before synthetic medication. Throughout my personal journey traveling the world, I have experienced positive effects using essential oils daily. Essential oils have proven to be an easy way to maintain better sleep when crossing time zones, promote a healthy gut while traveling, and support immunity when in public places like youth hostels or cruise ships.
The Global Wellness
Over the last decade, the world of wellness — a worldwide industry of care and exercise services, nutrition, alternative medicine, and more than surpassed $4.5 trillion in 2018 – has seen a victorious ascent. Popular views of the significance of nutrition, exercise, and healthy habits have shifted, enabling thriving new economic sectors. As wellness develops and spreads, ancillary industries ranging from food and beverage to hotels are beginning to provide goods that match the ideals of today’s health-conscious customers.
As the boundaries between their goods and the lifestyle they want to promote blur, many companies are trying to appeal to all aspects of their consumers’ identities. Fitness chain Equinox, indoor cycling chain SoulCycle, and sports apparel store Lululemon are all examples of businesses that are widely focused on wellness. All are now expanding into the tourist industry, providing multi-day trips for members focusing on health and fitness.
“all across the globe, more individuals are integrating aspects of health, preventive, self-actualization, experience, and mindfulness into their everyday lives.” “It is not surprising that individuals today demand to maintain their healthy lives and wellness regimens when away from home.”
Oh, by the way, I couldn’t resist and hopped on another ship, actually my dream ship. This year I’ve seen a lot of anxiety and depression on board. You are not alone. Mental health is just as important as our physical health. I connected with one of our industry-trusted Chinese Medicine practitioners Brodie Welch. We had a discussion on why we should shift to Traditional Chinese medicine. You can listen to our conversation here.
