How To Help Africa By Only Buying Essential Oils?

We Always Wanted To Help Someone, Especially Africa, But How To Help Africa? In What Way?

Read this article until the end about why we need to help Africa and how to help them. When Freedom Now Africa (FNA) was investigating persons sought in connection with child trafficking over the Uganda border, they came upon this trafficking network. With sponsorship from the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation, their research resulted in the rescue of 14 girls and the arrest of six traffickers in May 2019.

When FNA took a deeper look, they realized this was simply the tip of the iceberg. The 14 girls were all from Uganda’s Karamojong tribe. When questioned, several of them revealed information that created a frightening picture.

A big criminal network seems to be actively targeting and methodically exploiting females from a certain neighborhood. FNA had uncovered a considerably larger and more intricate people trafficking enterprise than they had previously suspected.

They decided to pursue the leads and see what they could discover. If they were dealing with a well-organized trafficking network, FNA required strong proof to enlist the help of the government and law enforcement.

A thorough, long-term investigation into this trafficking network was necessary, and this required assistance. As a result, FNA contacted the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation.

Over the course of eight months, FNA was able to obtain a comprehensive look at the structure of the trafficking network from top-to-bottom thanks to supporting from the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation. FNA worked with someone on the inside to learn as much as possible. They established touch with eight of the victims while working cautiously.

These ladies gave specific information on the organization, assisting investigators in understanding the network’s dynamics and important actors. Investigators obtained tangible evidence on a transnational criminal network with the assistance of these courageous ladies.

What they found was quite horrifying.

Why They Targeting This Part Of Uganda Border

These kidnapped Karamojong girls and women were indoctrinated to believe that women are less valuable than males. They were denied an education and employment chances. They couldn’t make a better life for themselves if they remained due to a lack of economic prospects in the area. But if they fled, they would jeopardize their own safety.

Outside of the neighborhood, their ethnic group faced severe discrimination from the rest of the country. These ladies were almost invisible to many people. As a result, they were defenseless and susceptible to abuse. Nobody appeared to notice or care that scores of Karamojong girls were vanishing.

The Most Vulnerable

Traffickers targeted these ladies precisely because they were well aware of their weaknesses. Their plan was to contact potential victims and offer them a job outside the nation in exchange for a meeting at a certain time and location. At that point, the victims were moved over the border and into Kenya, which, because of its bustling airports, is a suitable location for international trafficking.

This human trafficking network was smart, detailed, and well-organized, as proven by bribes made to corrupt authorities in order to gain easy entry into Kenya. Their base of operations was in a suburb outside of Nairobi. Because the area’s violent image kept authorities away, illegal enterprises proliferated. The trafficked females were kept in residences until they were sold, and they were sometimes sent to sleep on the streets.

Preventing The Tragedy Of Human Trafficking

The future of the battle against human trafficking, according to Chris, is in prevention. The aim should be to address the factors that drive individuals out of their communities and into slavery in the first place.

Creating economic possibilities in vulnerable populations is one of the most effective methods of combating trafficking. And it is precisely in this area that dōTERRA has expended the majority of its efforts.

economic oppurtunities

“When dōTERRA pays fair and on-time salaries, or when the dōTERRAHealing Hands Foundation brings in economic partners like Mentors International®, it means that a vulnerable family has greater economic opportunities to grow. Reducing such desperation helps communities boost the safety of their most vulnerable populations,” adds Missy Larsen, dōTERRA‘s vice president of charity and community impact.

Operation Black Mamba

Operation Black Mamba is the greatest and most effective anti-trafficking rescue mission ever carried out by FNA and its East African allies. The rescue’s success exceeded everyone’s expectations. The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation’s executive director, Anne Wairepo, expresses her thanks for the operation’s success: “Our relationship with Freedom Now Africa in anti-trafficking activities has returned well above our expectations.” We are immensely thankful to the whole crew for putting aside their comforts to conduct rigorous and upsetting on-the-ground work to release over a hundred girls from slavery.”

“I never imagined this would go from 14 girls rescued in Kenya to an additional 96,” Chris adds. “With the help of dōTERRA, we were able to identify this illicit trafficking network that was going on without anybody knowing. We can now take action to safeguard vulnerable individuals, hold others responsible, and bring justice to the courts.”
