There are two high-speed ferries at Playa del Carmen that run all day to and from Cozumel. They run every hour, so you’ll never have to wait long. The ferry dock is situated in downtown Playa del Carmen, so if you’re coming from Cozumel, you can stroll from the pier – no extra transportation required. If you are staying in a Playacar hotel, the ferry port is also within walking distance.
The regular ferry takes approximately 45 minutes. However, Ultramar has a new luxury boat that may cross in just 20 minutes depending on weather conditions, making commuting back and forth between Cozumel and Playa del Carmen a breeze. This is particularly useful for Cozumel cruise guests on a tight timetable searching for ship excursions to the numerous sights on the Riviera Maya’s mainland, such as Mayan Ruins sites.
Best Things To Do In Cozumel With Family
It is feasible to visit Cozumel for the day, but if you have the opportunity, I would highly suggest spending at least one night to enjoy the island’s natural beauty!
You will be immersed in the natural rhythm of the tropics once you arrive on the island.
1. Chankanaab Adventure Beach Park
The most popular attraction in Cozumel is Chankanaab Adventure Beach Park. It is conveniently situated just 10 minutes via taxi from the cruise ship port. It is popular with cruise ship passengers, day-trippers, and beachgoers. Take in our beach and reef region’s natural beauty and be amazed by our eco archaeology tour. Restrooms, showers, bungalows, hammocks, and beach chairs were all provided. Your ticket now covers the following activities: Sea Lion Show, Dolphin Presentation, Manatee Exhibition, Crocodile Exhibition, and Eco Archaeological Tour.
2. Playa Mia Day Pass Experience
When visiting Cozumel, make a statement by visiting Playa Mia on their Day Pass Experience. This attraction is situated on one of the finest beaches on the island! In addition to the waterpark, you may marvel at the beautiful shoreline as you travel around the island’s western side, learning about Cozumel’s rich history and ancient Mayan civilizations. Playa Mia is the ideal location to hone your snorkeling abilities while taking advantage of more than 20 complimentary services.
3. Mr Sanchos Beach Club Cozumel
Cozumel’s seashore has over 1000 feet of white sand, where you can enjoy our Aquatic Park, wave runners, parasailing, banana boat excursions, snorkeling tours, scuba diving, or ride a horse or an ATV through the forest and the beach.
4. Visit El Cedral
Visit some ancient Mayan ruins on your vacation to Cozumel. The earliest ruins on the island may be found in El Cedral. This tiny building with minimal adornment is a fertility temple and is considered a highly significant ceremonial location.
5. Paradise Beach
You’ve come to the perfect spot whether you want to rest in the shade or have some fun in the sun! There’s something here for everyone! Gorgeous beach and a massive, Vegas-style fresh/heated pool! Fantastic meal, beverages, service, and facilities. $3 for a lounge chair, $10 meal or drink minimum in or Traditional a la carte service, or try the new All-Inclusive Package. This novel alternative allows you to eat and drink throughout the day.
Cozumel Island Exploration
With its pristine environment, world-class diving possibilities, and gorgeous beaches, it’s no surprise that thousands of individuals want to cross Cozumel off their bucket list in 2019. It’s one of my favorite Mexican islands, and the minute you get off the boat, time slows down.
There are many well-known hotels (for all prices) in Cozumel, delectable restaurants, and things to do. However, I’ve discovered that studying the island before visiting isn’t as simple as it may seem.
Some of my favorite activities on the island weren’t even listed on Google. That is why I have chosen to take matters into my own hands to ensure that YOU do not miss out on the finest of the best.
