For years I have been developing myself personally and professionally. Along the way, I have made many mistakes. I have failed at friendships, relationships, and careers. All those years, I could have allowed myself to believe I wasn’t good enough. Instead, I used those experiences to teach me life’s lessons. I allowed myself to go inward and discover who I want to be by creating the person I want to show up as in the world.
We all want to seek out the best version of ourselves, but very few feel like we succeed. We are our worst enemies. We might criticize ourselves and say we are not good enough when we receive a compliment; some people may become self-destructive and turn to addictions. Let me tell you right now, that’s the version of you that’s holding you back and keeping you where you are at.
Becoming the best version of ourselves happens at any age. Some are unwittingly self-destructive, and others know but don’t take action to change. I am confident that you are ready and determined to be the best version of yourself, so follow these steps:
Speak Postively
“I’m a failure at relationships,” “I can never have that hourglass body,” and “my life is the pits” are just three of the many phrases we might say without realizing it.
When you talk like this to yourself and have this negative conversation, you convince yourself that these things are true.
This can cause you to sabotage yourself or stop trying to be the best version. Learning to quiet the negative self-talk is critical.
Take notice of when these phrases begin to pop up in your mind. As soon as you notice them, you’ve begun to dig yourself a hole, Start thinking of something positive. Eventually, it will become easier for you.
Complement Others
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to criticize people around us? We do this because it gives us a sense of feeling more of an authority and in control. Rremove all the negative energy from your life. The first avoid judging others.
Instead, get to know the people in your life and around you. Listen and observe without any expectations or attempts to control. We are all different, Everyone lives their unique life they want, and you must do the same.
Fail Fast
One of the things that prevent us from being the best version of ourself is the fear of failure. Have you ever thought that you don’t dare to put yourself out there because you’re afraid of screwing up?
Real people are those who know what they want, and they go for it. Others settle for receiving what life gives them. Don’t be afraid of being wrong; making mistakes is how grow and become knowledgable. ‘Fail fast, fail often’- Oprah.
Do what you love and want
That’s right, don’t do what someone else wants you to do. If you spend your whole life running from failure, you’ll likely do things you really don’t want to do. From studying something that doesn’t interest you to marrying the wrong person who doesn’t make you happy.
You show up authenticly you take risks to find yourself.
Dream, dream big. Make those dreams a reality.
Forget about being perfect. Be perfectly imperfect. Trying to achieve perfection will make you very unhappy. If you’re going to please someone, let that someone be you.
Associate with people who give you good vibes
Be open to be around people who make you feel better. When your friends and family speak positively and motivate you to achieve your goals, the road is easier and more rewarding.
If the people around you like your friends and family are not exactly the company you love, look for alternatives. Don’t completely leave your friends, but do let yourself to meet new people that make you laugh and give you good vibes.
You can also seek TCM Acupuncturist, Barre instructors, or coaches to help you find the motivation you need.
